Holy Week and Easter are the main festivities in the Catholic calendar. The solemnity and severity of the first week is followed by the joyful, noisy explosion of the second one, with its days in the country, picnics and meetings.

The highlights are Vila-real and Vinaròs processions due to their solemnity and tradition, together with the popular representations of the Passion in Borriol, Chilches or Torreblanca.

The days following the Resurrection are known for the pilgrimages to various chapels, such as the Pelegrins de les Useres, Vallivana’s Rogativa or the pilgrimage to Sant Pere Castellfort chapel held in Catí. Let’s not forget though the typical distribution of calderes in Almassora.

The Pelegrins de les Useres pilgrimage is a tradition of a town that has managed to keep unchanged its medieval liturgy and rituals and is one of the oldest in the Mediterranean basin, attracting thousands of people. It always starts on the last Sunday in April, covering in two days the roundtrip journey towards Sant Joan de Penyagolosa (70 km approximately).

The Corpus Christi celebrations at Morella are a reference, a unique show. Along its medieval streets giant and enormous headed figures and a series of Bible characters are paraded, along with ancient typical dances.
